National FFA Week Spotlight: Isabel Bailey, Midway FFA

Isabel Bailey

As a freshman member of the Midway R-1 FFA Chapter, Isabel Bailey is enjoying learning more about agriculture and appreciates the leadership opportunities the organization has provided this year.

“My favorite things about being in FFA this year are the Greenhand leadership events we have been able to go to and the presentations by the Missouri FFA State Officer Team,” she says.

No stranger to agriculture, Isabel lives on a farm outside of Cleveland, Missouri and enjoys the farm life. She shares that her family currently has horses and donkeys and is excited to add cattle and hogs to the farm in the coming months. The family farm also houses Isabel’s Supervised Agricultural Experience (SAE) project: rabbits. In the future, Isabel will use the hogs and cattle as her SAE, as well.

“I showed rabbits one year when I was in 4-H, so I knew that I wanted my SAE project to involve rabbits in some way. Today, I have two meat rabbits that I use for my SAE,” Isabel says.

Joining FFA was a plan that Isabel had in place for a couple of years and was solidified when she entered junior high school and saw the opportunities and future the organization could provide. The freshman says that she plans to be an FFA member throughout high school and is looking toward agriculture for future career opportunities.

“I plan to attend Johnson County Community College after I graduate from high school,” she shares, “Then I am hoping to go on to school at a four-year university and then vet-school to become a veterinarian.”

Isabel is the daughter of AGI SureTrack Customer Service Representative, Sara Bailey.
